Then it’s on to the domain of the Hapsburgs and birthplace of Mozart. Austria’s famous cities and incomparable countryside await on the second stage of your journey. The Austrian Alps and the Salzkammergut region will take you through fertile valleys and charming villages. You’ll discover medieval heritage and picturesque landscapes every step of the way as you enter Lichetenstein and the Swiss Alps. Day 1 & 2
Munich, Germany
Your flight to Munich delivers you into the heart of Bavaria. The capital of the region it sits on the enchanting Isar River and is rooted deep in tradition. It is also the focal point of art and culture in the region. A tour of the city is followed by a 3 course dinner at your hotel.
Day 3
Neuschwanstein Castle
Enjoy a day visiting King Ludwig’s fairy tale Neuschwanstein Castle. It provided the Inspiration for Disney’s Castle and is Germany’s best known tourist attraction
Day 4
Salzburg
A tour of the old town highlights the city’s impressive Cathedral, Mozart’s birthplace and exquisite Mirabell Gardens. Watch for the famous locations used in the movie, the “Sound of Music.”
Day 5 & 6
Vienna Tour & Classical Concert. You’ll spend the day touring charming Vienna with its’ stunning baroque architecture, beautiful parks, and gothic spires. Your morning of sightseeing will include vistas along the banks of the Danube River. Of special interest is the magnificent State Opera House and famous Heldenplatz site of Hofburg Palace, winter residence of the Austrian Imperial Family.
* The following day you will have an opportunity to enjoy an evening of Mozart & Strauss in one of Vienna’s elegant concert halls.
Day 7
Salzburg – Innsbruck. Your arrival in Innsbruck puts you in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps. Former host city of two winter Olympics, your guide provides a tour highlighting the city’s rich history and culture, including Maria-Theresien-Strasse, the Hofburg and “The olden Roof.”
Day 8
Vaduz Lichtenstein – Alps – Zurich. A morning drive to the tiny principality of Liechtenstein and through a truly inspiring landscape with its’ beautiful mountains,
deep-blue lakes and airy larch forests. Then on to Zurich’s attractive historic center and lakeside promenade.
Day 9 & 10
Interlaken & Lucerne – Zurich. A day excursion to Interlaken and Lucerne, where you can admire Thorwaldsen’s Lion Monument, the ornate patrician houses of the walled Old Town, and cross the famous
covered Wooden Bridge to the Jesuit Church.
Your journey ends with a transfer to Zurich Airport for your return flight home
